Young Actor at Xidan

January 21st, 2008

I meet so many female acting students, it was nice to finally encounter a male one.  He has a sort of rugged urban style with a very modern jacket that seems even faintly athletic.

    hi nels,
i’ve always been a big fan of streetfashion, especially streetfashion development in beijing. like you’ve said, because the people still know only little about the “rules” of fashion, there’s so much diversity and “freshness”.
i was born in bj, but my parents took me to austria when i was little. it’s so interesting to see the changes every year, especially the recent two or three years have seen such a rapid pace of change. i just love it to go to xidan and watch the people there.
so i’m really happy that i’ve found your blog.

thank you and keep up with your nice work :)

    Hi
I am a Beijing Girl currently studying in San Francisco. My major is fashion merchandising in academy of art university. I went to college in KS and then stayed in NYC for three years, I’ve been worked in Fashion PR company in SOHO before, now I just relocated in SF for my master degree. I love fashion. I am glad that you pay so much attention to China fashion. We should be friends and talk more in the future since I am very interested to do something to China fashion.

The fibers looked cheap, this guy is not the most trendy person in Beijing. He needs to do something with his hair, he should untie one shirt button。 It would be better to make layers on the top, either he should wear short jacket or longer shirt.

hi guys! I am not a native English speaker, if I got grammar or spelling mistakes, please let me know

@ weina - Thanks so much for reading my blog. It is quite interesting to look at all of the changes. Xidan is a weird place, but I think there is a lot of freshness there and at Nanluoguxiang. Are you back here from Austria?

@ Jiang - Good to finally have some critical voices and thanks for all the comments - you’re English seems quite good. We should absolutely be friends and talk more about fashion. As for the guy, he’s not the most interesting I’ve photographed, but there was something about his gait, which I wasn’t able to pick-up on film.

no, i’m still studying in austria, but i come back to bj every couple of month (like next week! soo looking forward to it..^^).
i remember a couple of entries ago you’ve compared xidan with shibuya, i’ve always used to compare it with harajuku, because i think it’s the place, where you can see the most crazy kids and some kind of subculture development..
nanluoguxiang seems already more sophisticated and a bit too “foreigner-crowded”…but maybe i should go there more often, it’s such a nice alley and they have some great restaurants.

oh yes, one more thing: erguotou rules ;)

    Hi Stylities
How’s going? U finally got critics? HEHE, I hope that I might not be too critical. But I am a tough girl, just kidding. In the future, I will definitely provide more comments.
