Italy Pavilion Uniforms at Expo

I guess giving the “Best Uniforms at the Expo” award to Italy is not exactly a shocker, especially given that they are designed by Prada.

The fabrics were a little bit too techno for me – I often find this with Prada – but the color and pattern matching is quite memorable. I will talk more about the Pavilion itself later, but Italy deserves to do well in the China market after such an effort. Having the backing of such major fashion houses helps of course.

Loose and Free

It’s a sort of modernization of the traditional Scottish style since it is neither a real kilt nor traditional brogues but certainly very reminiscent of both. Tupper Bai is a makeup artist.

Two Hip Eateries

Here I talk about two must-visit trendy restaurants that opened recently in Beijing. These are frequented by the higher-end of the fashionistas appearing on stylites.

A Model Agent

Ben is a model agent in Shanghai. He often came to Beijing looking for models. I asked him a few questions.

NF: Do you think opportunities for foreign models in China will increase or decrease?

Ben是个模特经纪人在上海。他经常来北京找模特。我问了他些问题。

NF: 你觉得以后外国模特的机会在中国会比现在多还是少?

Second of Fame

Why? I just wanted to show a typical shop owner on Gulou Dongdajie. She is from Tianjin and her shop, called Famous, sells interesting items bearing labels with names like “Marc Jacobs” and “Louis Vuitton”.

More Men at agnès b.

Designer Xander Zhou (周翔宇) thought the agnès b. show as good. His avant-garde designs blur gender, geographic, and subcultural lines in startling ways, but it is rare that I see a piece from him that I can imagine on my own back.
