Perhaps this is not a shocker, but even thought it is now no longer the Year of the Tiger, feline prints are more omnipresent than ever. We did a rather long post on this earlier. Even on rather tame looking girls, the prints are quite wild.

At music festivals, the ragtag bunch of stuff sellers are as much an attraction for some as the music acts. This vendor made just a little over 300 RMB that day, which just covered her costs including tickets to the festival and food for the day. There was no rental fee at the outdoor market.

Her loafers are custom-made.

I wonder if this mysterious man in red was trying to shield himself from sand or sun.

Interestingly, at the Strawberry Festival, they didn’t allow liquids to be brought in, there was no alcohol selling after the first day, and I did not catch the scent of anything more nefarious. There were a lot of cigarettes though.

The Strawberry Festival might be the most popular music event in Beijing and is quite the catwalk. Perhaps the key street fashion event of the year, this past weekend’s Strawberry at Tongzhou Canal Park brought 130 artists and Djs to six stages over three days together with thousands of quirkily dressed revelers. Here on Stylites, the next ten or so posts will show off all their colors, while noting some key trends that emerged.
