At Tod’s Party, 798

I didn’t make the eagerly awaited “Italian Dream” Tod’s party, because I had organized my own party, but Suzy was there to photograph there for Stylites. A high-profile event held at fashion square at 798, actresses Zhou Xun and Marisa Tomei were there as well as Tod’s CEO and founder Diego Della Valle. Broadwayworld.com has pictures of the celebrity attendees and the WSJ Magazine has an interesting on Mr. Della Valle and Tod’s in Asia.

这应该是tod’s到现在在中国最大的活动吧?这次活动在798的时装广场。这次我没发去因为做了自己的活动,但suzy帮我派了几张照片。

Gender-Bending, at Theory

At the opening of the new Theory flagship in Sanlitun Village, North, this editor is engaging in what might be called “pragmatic” gender bending – in contrast to conceptual or subversive gender bending. Perhaps pragmatic is not the ideal word.

在美国希尔瑞在三里屯北的开幕式,这个编辑搞的是一种”实用主义“的性别弯曲 – 不是一种很概念行的或者非主流的性别弯曲。

Denim Director

Kan Deng, the Creative Director/Fashion Director at Grazia, switches up the ties and the sport coats, but he has been keeping to a denim shirt the last few times I have seen him. Kan’s styles were picked up when he was in Paris, too.

《红秀》的创意总监兼创意总监邓堪最近都会换领带和外套但每次都会穿件牛仔衫。巴黎的一个网站也派过堪。

More stories on the Phillip Lim show at Dongbianmen from Style.com and stylelist.com. These websites really have names like mine.

By the City Wall

Before the Phillip Lim show at Dongbianmen, this man seems like someone with power, money or both. In China, it is rare to see such people wearing so many colors.

Also, Stylites coverage of the Phillip Lim 3.1 fifth anniversary events was just mentioned in this piece on Jing Daily, which also explains more of the reason for the presence of this designer here in Beijing. Here is another piece from the Jing Daily on the rise of Chinese American designers.
