I am seeking a web designer for a major upgrade and expansion of Stylites.net. If you are interested in helping on this, please contact me through email (available here).

Back in London
Am back in London for a spell and haven’t had a chance to upload the latest pics. I will do so very soon though.
A Top China Blog
Thanks to Jing Daily for including me in its list of the top five China fashion bloggers. Amusing that beyond being the only non-Chinese on this list, I am the only male. This story was picked up by the Business of Fashion and The New York Times Fashion and Style Section.
25 Top People in China Fashion Industry
Here, from Forbes, is an interesting slide show of the most important figures in the Chinese fashion industry. Xander Zhou is the only one on the list who has been on Stylites. I don’t know if “fashionista” is the right word for most of these people.

我在《时尚旅游》的专æ 出æ¥äº†ï¼
The August issue of National Geographic Traveler has hit news stands throughout China. It contains my first column on China-based stylish travelers. This four page pictorial and interview will feature monthly in the magazine for at least the next few issues. Profiled will be one male and one female traveler in travel garb and photos of the items most essential to them on that long trip. First up are TV host Cao Difei and designer Currie Lee.
This feature of mine seeks to inspire travelers to appear more elegant while moving toward their destinations. I am echoing the common complaint that travel has became too “commercial” and unglamorous.

çƒæ»äº†
It is just too unbearably hot to continue the work of photographing the stylish of Beijing’s streets. I don’t imagine that anyone who can afford a shirt goes out in this weather anyway. Most of the people I see on the streets are, understandably, shirtless.

Back in Beijing
I have just arrived and am trying to get adjusted to the time difference, extreme humidity, and smog. It is nice to return to return to my little courtyard though. Jeffrey Ying just got in and is crashing on my couch for the moment.
Regular Updates Again Soon
Regular updates of Stylites will return on Monday when I get back to Beijing. The trip to Europe has been a wonderful breath of fresh air and a break from the intense heat of China. My working schedule has been less regular than it is when I am in Beijing though. Keep checking back.
Li Xiaofeng Sculpture at LV
Less than two months ago, the work of Li Xiaofeng was seen in connection with another fashion brand. A Qipao made of pot shards is now on the second floor of the new Huaihai Road Louis Vuitton store in the most powerful megalopolis our world has ever seen.
Li Xiaofeng commented that the degree of cooperation with Lacoste makes the sale of an already existing piece of art to Louis Vuitton seem rather limited in comparison. The innovativeness of Lacoste is impressive, in his opinion. For the Holiday Collector’s Series 2010, they commissioned him to create a unique porcelain shard sculpture just for their brand. Then, together with Li, they created a series of shirts with prints based on this sculpture.
Two Hip Eateries
Here I talk about two must-visit trendy restaurants that opened recently in Beijing. These are frequented by the higher-end of the fashionistas appearing on stylites.
Two Nights in the Meatpacking
Springtime downtown is heartbreaking – the incomparable light, the adorable architecture, and everyone so attractive and determined. It’s another whirlwind tour through Manhattan, this time to attend the shooting of “It’s My Time”. Lodging is in the Standard, cocktails with the 20 finalists are in the Boom Boom Room and the photo shoot by Josh Olins is at Superstudios. I am eager to experience life in the Meatpacking District.
Ship of Actors
Here is a post I did on the Benetton “It’s My Time” blog covering the Chongqing Grand Theatre
