A Well-Covered Fashion Week

Most spectators at China Fashion Week were not as stylish as the average shopper Sanlitun Village let alone the guests at most fashion parties hosted by foreign brands. Most days at 798 or Beijing Hotel, one could hardly spot the up-to-style bloggers, editorialistas or models with fashion accessories straight off the runway – images so familiar in Paris, New York and Milan. Only the number of media, though almost entirely local, approached international levels.

大部分来中国国际时装周的人没有一般在三里屯逛街的人穿得时尚 － 更没法跟在北京参加时尚活动的人比。这个跟纽约、巴黎和米兰的时装周完全不一样。只有媒体人的数量可以跟国外的时装周比。

Model Prefers Berries

Cabbeen’s collection won him the overall award for best designer at this year’s fashion week, and Wang Yutao won it for menswear. Model Sean was in both shows and he says he prefers the Wang Yutao’s collection for Beauty Berry.

BLV and ALV

There were all kinds of types at the Armani store opening. I would prefer this shirt in a brown and beige print like the classic monogram bags.

One tends to think of China’s development in terms of pre and post Reform and Opening. I think it is also instructive to think in terms of Before Louis Vuitton (BLV) and After Louis Vuitton (ALV).

A Men’s Lady

Lady Anne covers men’s fashion for Sohu, one of China’s premier online portals. She describes her own fashion sense as “Mod”. Her favorite show of the last China International Fashion Week was Notting Hill.

Kevin Tallon from Robe di Kappa

Off the normal fashion week schedule was the Robe Di Kappa show. Kevin Tallon from St Martin’s Design Laboratory of London headed the team that created one of the strongest collections of the week from the perspectives of theme consistency, innovation in fabrication and cut, and integrity of design.

Robe Di Kappa 这次时装秀的时间和不在正常的时装周日程上。由Kevin Tallon率领的伦敦圣马丁设计工作室带来的设计是这一周表现力最强的设计之一，主题一致，裁剪和制作上极富创意，设计简洁连贯。
